The Dark Sky Tasmania board attended Destination Southern Tasmania’s ‘Tps and Tipples’ at Mt Pleasant Observatory on 23 August 2023. The topic was the benefits of a dark sky sanctuary for Tasmania and the emerging astrotourism market.
It was a highly popular event, with many questions from tourism operators keen to hear about the unique dark sky opportunity for Tasmania.
We plan to create a Q&A brochure for tourism operators with tips on how to make the most of Tasmania’s naturally dark sky - and how to protect it.
